Cannery Woman's Park:

The Cannery Woman's Park is being designed and formulated by Cannery Women who have spent a large portion of their lives working in the fish processing industry.  Certain aspects of the Park are looking for additions and family members are encouraged to contact the Foundation to place names on items, provide gift benches, name stones and other memorable items that will enhance the Park.

Cannery Woman Statue
Life Size Bronze Statue of a Cannery Woman in Traditional Clothing Holding a Salmon in One Hand and A Butcher Knife in the Other.  The significance is life, food, hard work and family dedication.
Park Benches
Memorial Benches are being solicited to provide name recognition to donors as well as the families who have worked so hard in these environments.  Sometimes standing for more than 8 hours a day, these ladies deserve eternal resting benches!
Landscaping
Recent concepts are being evaluated at the Interpretive Center

Interpretive Center:

JO Hanthorn, one of the founders of the Columbia River Packers Association (CRPA) and eventually the creation of Bumble Bee Seafoods, laid the foundation of one of the strongest seafood marketing companies in the World.  While much of this industry has fragmented in the last 20 years, its thriving early industrial livelihood provided jobs, food and futures for many generations of families throughout the West Coast of the United States and the foundation of professional workers today.
